Live-in care

Live-in care is an increasingly popular alternative to moving into a care home – especially for those who have higher support needs. Our Vitaboost Health carers will live in your home allowing you to keep all the comforts of home, where life can go on with reliable normality.

We will provide the right person for a range of needs. Whether that be focused around dementia care, respite and recovery, those living with a chronic condition, those needing end-of-life care, or disabled adults of any age. Each Vitaboost Healthcare carer is committed to providing a bespoke live-in care and support service tailored to your individual needs.

Respite Care

Caring for a loved one is a role that demands a lot of commitment and selflessness and can take up a lot of emotional and physical energy. It’s understandable that at times you’ll need a break in order to rest and recuperate. In fact, it’s important that you take time for yourself every now and then in order to relax and ensure that you can continue to provide the high- quality care that your loved one requires.

However, the prospect of leaving your loved one whilst you take a short break from your role or go on holiday can be a daunting one as you want to ensure that your loved one is still well cared for. During this time, you may consider finding a short-term, part-time or live-in carer to care for your loved one whilst you’re away.

Overnight Care

A good night’s sleep may be difficult to get for many reasons, including lack of mobility, anxieties over being left alone and conditions such as dementia. This in itself can make remaining independent more difficult, which is where night care can help.

Night care can provide necessary support with toileting, medication, and mobility assistance – useful if your loved one has a disability or suffers from dementia and is at risk of falling or injuring themselves during the night.

During a sleeping night, the carer will sleep in your or your loved one’s home to ensure safety and security. The carer will typically be able to get a reasonable night’s sleep, but is available to help if needed. This option is recommended if ongoing support is not required through the night, but you or your loved one feel uncomfortable when left alone throughout the night. Having a carer on hand can improve quality of sleep by alleviating anxieties and providing intermittent support.

A waking night carer can be on duty in your home to provide any necessary support throughout the night. A night carer can help with bathroom visits, personal care, monitoring, and any other needs which may arise. This may be the preferred option for those who wake
several times a night and need support. Assistance may be needed as you wake up disorientated, or wake due to pain caused by a medical condition. Private care may also be needed if you or your loved one wake at regular intervals throughout the night to change position due to injury or to take medication.
